Watercolour of bathing shed and Poet's Bridge in Pukekura Park with Mount Taranaki in the background. The painting is a scene from 1884, soon after the bridge was completed. The statues in the lake didn't exist after March 1885. The lack of trees on the western bank is also consistent with 1884. It could have been painted later from pictures. PHO2007-026 was taken 1884-1885.

The statues in the lake were Graces made of Plaster of Paris, donated by Professor Furlong in 1882. Professor Furlong was a barber and not a real professor. Unfortunately both statues were destroyed in early 1885

The lack of trees on the western bank is also consistent with 1884. It could have been painted later from pictures. PHO2007-026 was taken 1884-5
