Brooch, Hair Work
Description
Gold, oval-shaped mourning brooch. Gold plated metal rods encircling solid oval centre containing sample of hair on black base with glass covering. Metal rods engraved with repeated floral/foliage motif. Back of brooch inscribed:- "In Memory of P. Wilson, New Plymouth" and "N.Y." and "Died 18th Dec 1863". Hair is that of Dr P. Wilson's.
