Description
A black, metal screen with a raised picture of a peacock on the front. The peacock is showing off its tail feathers and has its wings raised. It is standing on the lower branches of a bush with leaves and flowers above. An ornate piece of metal work decorates the top of the screen, two long bridge like handles are located at the sides, and the whole is supported by "Y" shaped legs. Approx date 1870-1900.

This screen is used to cover the open fireplace when it was not being used. It blocked the draught and the thought of the cooler winter months by bringing the garden inside with its peacock design.
