Description
A fossilised crab ( Trichopeltarion ) encased within an oval siltstone concretion. The carapace is the only piece visible in both the top and bottom section.

I believe this was handed in by J.D.Hall of Hawera between 2006-2009. It had been used as a door stop. On moving house the item became redundant and was offered to PukeAriki. I believe it was found on the South coast near Ohawe, if my memory serves me correctly.

Trichopeltarion gregi. that this is is found at motonau beach north canterbury i doubt if it was found at onaero
