Oral history. Muriel Dashfield tells of her life growing up in Wanganui. She worked as a stock and station agent during World War II while taking a mechanics course. She married Ernie Abraham, a teacher, and they bought a store at Kai Iwi. While there she studied for a degree in accountancy. They ran the Patea hotel and then moved to New Plymouth where Ernie obtained a position at New Plymouth Boys' High School and Muriel worked at the Govt. Totalisation Agency. Muriel joined the CAB, and was asked to be a trustee on the Board of the TSB. Other interests include IHC, and she was the first woman referee in the Small Claims Court.
