Description
Oral history recording. Matarena Marjorie Rau-Kupa (nee Raumati) (1913-2011) describes her childhood on Urenui marae and work at the maternity hospital in New Plymouth. She discusses the Kotahitanga movement and describes accompanying her father to Ratana meetings and Parliament (her brother married Ratana's daughter). Matarena left Ahura Hospital due to ill health then worked for Duncan & Davies and Watkins Seeds. She talks about her connection with Taranaki Museum, the Govett Brewster art gallery and St Mary's Church since retirement.
