Description
A two-tone ceramic mug. A picture of Mount Taranaki / Egmont features in black on the front. " G.T.G PROJECT / SAFETY AWARD " is written around the mountain. The main body of the mug is a speckled tan colour and the lip, the top of the handle and the interior are a darker brown.
These mugs and other items such as first aid kits were awarded to contractors working on the Gas to Gasoline project at Motunui.

This mug was part of set awarded to Karl Taylor in July 1984 when he was working as an industrial spray painter during the construction of the Synfuel plant at Motunui. Various safety awards were presented monthly to staff during the construction of the plant.

These mugs other items such as first aid kits and other items were awarded to contractors working on the Gas to Gasoline project at Motunui. I was the buyer for Bechtel Corp who purchased and arranged these to be screen printed, which was done by local companies in New Plymouth. I still have some cloth badges with this logo and was involved with its design.
