Abstraction: "A feature programme about Dr. Doris Gordon, New Zealand's pioneer doctor in the science in obstetrics. She died in 1956. She established the Chair of Obstetrics at Auckland University. The programme is based on the opinions and comments of people who knew her such as - Dr. Bill Gordon (her husband), Averill, Hawkesworth, Stallworth, Paterson (a nurse) and Mr. Douglas Robb. The Chair of Obstetics in Auckland was the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere when this was recorded on October 21st, 1957." (Nga Taonga Sound & Vision archive, Ref 36015)
