Description
Three fragments of a children's alphabet plate. The fragments are from the rim of the plate which has the alphabet written in blue capital letters around the edge. One features the letters from D-J, the second fragment features the letter L & M and the third features the letters from O-S.

Credit line
For more than 20 years soldiers and Armed Constabulary were stationed at Pukearuhe Redoubt and its surrounding settlement of Clifton in North Taranaki. These plate fragments were recovered during a salvage excavation in 1968 when the Northern gas pipeline was laid across the site.
