For more than 20 years soldiers and Armed Constabulary were stationed at Pukearuhe Redoubt and its surrounding settlement of Clifton in North Taranaki. This doll's leg was recovered during a salvage excavation in 1968 when the Northern gas pipeline was laid across the site.
