Description
A breech loading five chambered .32 calibre nickel plated Young America revolver. It has a double action and a solid frame. The ejector rod and cylinder pin are spring held. " H&R Arms Company Worcester, Mass, U.S.A. 32 S&W Ctge " is marked on the barrel. " Young America, Double action " is marked on the top strap and " 313336" is on the butt strap.

Revolvers like this one were commonly known as " Saturday night specials ". They were quite 'cheap and nasty' and a lot of New Zealanders going to the South African War took these to use as pocket pistols. They would have been concealed in a jacket pocket as they were not officially allowed to be carried.
