A child's fine cotton broderie anglaise bonnet with the back panel gathered onto a lace insertion. The back panel is lavishly embroidered with a floral pattern. The front of the bonnet has a finer repetitive pattern with floral band across the front. The lower edge is trimmed with a coarse braid through which the tie would have been threaded and tied.
This bonnet was worn by members of the Hursthouse family. It was originally owned by Mary Blanche Hursthouse who married Henry R Richmond.
