Description
A Mark III Snider patent .577 calibre artillery carbine with brass trigger guard, butt plate and nose cap. The ramrod, nipple shield and rear sight are all missing. The lock plate is marked " 1880 C.G. Bonehill " and there is a war department and 'sold from service' mark on the butt. " No.,1367 N.Z.81 " and a ' sold from service ' mark on the receiver. " J.D." is carved on the side of the butt.
