Object detail

Credit line
This rifle appears to have been assembled to resemble a New Zealand Wars 1853 Pattern Enfield rifle. The stock may be from a Pattern 1853 Enfield although the marks on the butt plate are New Zealand ones. So the woodwork is originally from one weapon while the lock is off a Hay pattern weapon and the barrel is from an Indian Mutiny Enfield.
