Shave, Edge

Description
An edge shave with a rounded wooden handle attached to a slender shank which has a groove in the middle of the upper and lower side and a two pronged cutting edge with one prong broken off. There is a brass band at the end of the handle where it is attached to the shank.

This edge shave was used by Robert Graham, who owned a boot repair and saddlery shop in Queen Street, Waitara. Edge shaves are designed to shave and smooth edges on leather.
