Description
A dark navy-blue New Zealand Militia wool cap with a squared peak of hard leather at the front. The side of the crown has a shaped centre back seam. The outside edge of the crown is covered in a piece of woven black ribbon that depicts a design of acorns and oak leaves. The tip is decorated with a centrally placed stylised flower pattern of soutache braid circling a braided knob at the centre. The cap is lined with twill cotton which was originally white in colour. There is a leather sweatband on the inside.
