Description
A gold-coloured taffeta and lighter-toned silk princess-style gown. The elbow-length sleeves and sections of the side, centre and back of the skirt are ruched. The front of the bodice has a triangular-shaped ruched panel made of the lighter-toned silk and edged with piping. On the bottom of the skirt, there are bands of kilting alternating with the light satin trim. The full skirt is shaped for a bustle in the rear with a train that is trimmed with handmade needlepoint lace. The gown includes a small piped pocket on the front left-hand side and a centre back opening with satin-covered buttons. The collar fastens with a hook and eye and the inside of the train has a metal loop for holding up the skirt.
