Credit line
This carbine would have been in New Zealand during the New Zealand Wars. It would have arrived with the Royal Artillery and when the British Imperial Regiments departed it would have been left here. The marks indicate that it was then sold to the New Zealand Government. Artillery troops generally had older style weapons like this one as they used them less.
