My mother has a family button of the 14th Regiment of Foot, British Army - (as seen here - https://collection.maas.museum/object/85036 - they were also stationed in Australia "Stationed in Australia 1867-1870, based in Melbourne. Detachments were sent to Hobart, Fremantle and Perth" (I HOPE this is where the button came from - my Great Grandfather Robert Nudds left Norwich, England - settled in New Zealand (married in 1902) - but according to a cousin in Norwich, he went to Australia first. do you have any records of him - Robert Nudds - or his brother Charles Nudds oh Jamie Belich - I did his History Honours course at Victoria in 1993 - understand he is now at Auckland (agreed along with Glyn Parry to be thesis joint-supervisors - might pick that topic up again - happy for you to pass on to him - love to get back in touch any assistance would be greatly apprecaited
