Description
A promotional desktop clock. The clock is pyramid shaped with a black base, a clear plastic central portion, and a gold coloured peak. The clock's face and hands can be seen through the clear central portion. A label with " Ford " written on it is attached to the joint between the two hands. " Phillipps Ford L.M.V.D. / No. 1 IN TARANAKI / SALES-SERVICE-PARTS / Courtenay Street, New Plymouth / PHONE 75-639" is written in gold on the base. " QUARTZ / JAPAN MOVT. " is written on the face of the clock. " UK DESIGN REGD NO / 1035156 / MADE IN HONG KONG / FABRIQUE HONG KONG " is embossed on the underside of the base. There is a panel at the bottom of the clock and four small legs. It is accompanied by a white cardboard box with a hinged lid. The box features a picture of the clock on four sides along with text in blue. Operating instructions for the clock have been printed on both sides of a single piece of paper.

Clocks like these were used as a promotional tool by Phillips Ford in the early 1970s. This clock was given to Robin Astridge, a senior staff member at the time, who regretted that it never worked.
