Darwick, G. H.

Description
G. H. Darwick of Palmerston North and his friend Mel Saywell from Oakura shared an interest in both home movie making and pig hunting. These films were made by Darwick while out on a number of pig hunting trips in the Whangamomona/Awatea Valley areas.
The earliest film was shot on Murphy’s farm at Whangamomona around the 1940s. The more recent film shot compiled by Mel Saywell is assumed to include the 1940s film and may also have footage of Murphy’s boxthorn hedge cutter.
