Description
G H Darwick (of Palmerston North) and his friend Mel Saywell (Oakura) shared an interest in both home movie making and pig hunting. These films were made by Darwick while out on a number of pig hunting trips in the Whangamomona/Awatea Valley areas.
Earliest film was shot on Murphy’s farm at Whangamomona. c1940's. The more recent film shot compiled by Mel Saywell is assumed to include the 1940's film and may have footage of Murphy’s boxthorn hedge cutter.
