Vestment

Description
A Catholic priest's vestment and sash which is predominantly green with a green and gold trim. The vestment has a white trim around the collar. The placket at the front can be fastened by three metal domes. " JHS " is embroidered in green on a gold panel on the reverse of the vestment. A white tag with red writing on it is fixed to the interior. " VENETIAN FOREIGN MISSION SOCIETY " is written on the tag. The sash has a section of lace sewn along one edge on the centre and it has green and gold tassels at either end.

This vestment was used in services at the Whangamomona Catholic Church. When the vestment was donated in 2005 it had been sitting unused in a cupboard for a number of years.
