Helmet

Description
A fireman's helmet make of cork and covered with a heavy canvas that has been painted in black enamel. There is a N.Z. Fire Service emblem at the centre front above a red hatband. The inside has an adjustable leather lining with snaps and a black chinstrap. The helmet is shaped with a midline crest from the brow to the back of the helmet and the brim is long and curved above the neck and has a narrow peak at the front. There is a hole at the front of the crest possibly for a plume.
