Description
The Oakura Messenger or TOM was a community newspaper published from October 2000 to April 2020. It began as a four-page monthly newsletter but eventually became a 24-30 page paper featuring regular monthly columns. TOM was put into recess after the June 2012 edition but publication was continued from March 2013, lasting until April 2020.
The Oakura Messenger continues to host a website with archived digital editions of all issues dating from August 2002: http://www.thetom.co.nz
The Oakura Post began publishing in June 2020, replacing The Oakura Messenger (TOM). Edited by Tracey Lusk, archived digital editions of every issue are available on their website: http://www.theoakurapost.co.nz
