A Snider Mark I action civilian version of a .577 calibre cavalry carbine. It has an 18.5 inch barrel, iron furniture and a saddle ring. It is stamped " Snider Patent ", " Makers To Her Majesty's War Department " and "Isaac Hollis & Sons".
