Oral history. Born in Germany, 1952. Grew up on farm. Trained to be a nurse. Worked for Red Cross in South-West Africa, met husband Wolfgang. Lived in Johannesburg. Emigrated to New Zealand. First lived in Tokoroa then moved to New Plymouth. Hardly spoke any English when first arrived. Talks of differences between hospital system in Germany and New Zealand, more freedom in New Zealand, less people, more space.
