There were four daughters, Vera, Winifred Muriel, Amie and Winifred Margaret and eight sons, John Maxwell [Max], Laurence, Earle, Donald, Ronald, John, Herbert [Bert] and George Ralph [Digger].

Annie Alley was my grandmother. Annie had twelve children born between the years 1899 to1999. And later 40 grandchildren. There were four daughters, Vera, Winifred Muriel, Amie and Winifred Margaret,and eight sons, John Maxwell, [Max], Laurence, Earle, Donald,Ronald,John, Herbert [Bert]. George Ralph [Digger]. During World War Two, Six sons all served overseas, Earle was a farmer essential work in N.Z. Donald was a Missionary in the Solomons and was captured by the Japanese and died in 1942 when the ship was torpedoed on the way to Japan.Max and Bert became Prisoners of War when captured by Romell early in the war in North Africa and became P.O.W. for four years in camps from Italy into Poland last camp was stalag 8 B. I am the eldest daughter of Bert Alley and can remember my grandmother as an elderly lady in a rest home who would share her fruit with me on my twice a week visits, weekly I would travel on the carrier of my big cousin Gwens bike.
