Description
A 45rpm record titled " Folk Dances / No /8 " The record is held in a cardboard cover and plastic sleeve. Side 1 features the tracks " We Won't Go Home " and " Christchurch Bells ". Side 2 features "V irginia Reel " and " Rovenaka. " The cover features a couple in Czechoslovakian costume. The reverse of the cover features album credits and background information on dance and costume. " $1.50 " is handwritten in pencil on the reverse.

This record was part of a series of over 70 produced by Kiwi Records, a record label owned by New Zealand publisher A.H. & A.W Reed. The Folk Dances of the World series was a regular fixture of many primary school dance classes. This record was originally used in Newall School, Ōkato, during the 1960s.

If I could hear the track, Rovenaka, again I could know for certain whether this was danced by children at Homai College for the blind in the early 70s. It was a catchy melody and I've never forgotten it.
