A blue-silk floral-brocade ensemble made up of a dress and pair of pants. The dress has Chinese-inspired design elements including a mandarin collar and slits at the side seams along the hem. There are front darts at the bust and back and a zip fastening down the back opening. The inside of the zipper has " YOUNG HSIN " and " 1002? " with Chinese writing next to it. The pants have a wide band around the top made of plain blue synthetic fabric with the lower part made of the blue brocade fabric.
Owned by the donor's mother. She recalls her mother visiting countries in Asia while on business trips with her father and buying silks and other regional textiles. These fabrics were made into outfits she would wear while on these trips. Often times the outfits had Asian-inspired design elements.
