Documents associated with the awarding of a Distinguished Conduct medal (D.C.M.) to Private C. R. Barker (Reg. no. 10/1731) Wellington Battalion 'for conspicuous gallantry on the 8th August 1915 at Chunuk Bair'. He was also mentioned in despatches in 1916 and awarded an oak leaf emblem to be worn on the Victory Medal.
