Description
A medal awarded by the Fitzroy branch of the Buffalo Lodge. The medal is round and the obverse features a raised shield in the centre with two interlocked symbols that may be the letters " P " and " C ". " JUSTICE.TRUTH.PHILANTHROPY " is written on a blue border around the shield. A wreath design features around the edge of the medal which is surmounted by a crown. A swing clasp attaches the medal to the dark blue ribbon. "FITZROY" is engraved on the bar and a metal fern frond with " NZ " embossed on it is attached to the ribbon. The interlocking letters " RAOB " are written in gold on the ribbon and " G L E " is written in gold directly under them. The ribbon is topped by a buffalo horn design which has a scroll draped over it. " PRIMO " is written on the scroll. " 11-12-52 / PRESENTED / TO / BRO. J.K. WHITMORE / BY / THE MEMBERS OF THE / FITZROY / LODGE NO.36 NZ. / 2ND DEGREE " " SILVER " is stamped near the bottom.
