Description
A fashion plate depicting two women in a parlour with a small girl. The plate is titled: "Latest Paris Fashions/Presented to the subscribers to the Queen The Ladys Newspaper and court chronicle." It is supplement to "The Queen", The Lady's Newspaper and Court Chronicle, May 4, 1878. The girl is wearing a white dress with pink ruffled trim. The two women are wearing similar styles of fancy dress. Both have the same shape with emphasis on a shapely bustle and small waist. They have short cap sleeves and ruffled lace trimming along the edges of the gown. The woman in front has an elaborate train that has layers of fabric and pleats.
