Description
A fashion plate depicting two women in a salon. It is titled: "The Fashions/Expressly designed & prepared for 'The Englishwoman's Domestic Magazine' ". The women have their backs to the viewer and are wearing similar styles of gowns, one cream-coloured and the other maroon. Both have bustles and layers of overlapping fabric over their back trains. They have fitted sleeves with a full ruffled cuff. The cream gown has a yellow ribbon and lace trim and the maroon probably a dark velvet ribbon with ruffles and tassels. One woman is holding a fan.
