With an average weight between 13 and 15 kilograms, kurī were larger and more active than other Polynesian dogs. This assembled model appears to be from two different specimens as the jaw does not fit the skull exactly, but it still provides an interesting illustration of the species. For more information on kurī in the Puke Ariki collection see the section A Powerful Garment: Kahu Kuri in the book Flashback: Tales and Treasures of Taranaki pp.242-246.
