Description
A fashion plate from "The Fashions/Expressly designed & prepared for The "Englishwoman's Domestic Magazine". Two women are depicted in a drawing room scene observing a painting that sits next to a palate of fresh paint. The woman on the left has her back to the viewer displaying her black gown with a large train of draped fabric and pleated trimming. She is wearing a bustle and her gown is long waisted with princess seams down her back. The other woman is wearing a red and blue-patterned gown. Is is of a similar shape as the other but has tasselled edging.
