Description
A fashion plate titled: "The Fashions/Expressly designed & prepared for The "Englishwoman's Domestic Magazine". It depicts two women and a child in a parlour. The woman on the viewer's left has her back to the viewer displaying an elaborate arrangement of pleats and draped fabric down her blue gown. The woman in the middle has a similar shaped gown in light-brown more formal ensemble that has a long-waisted tailored jacket and buttons running down the length of the front. The child is dressed in a coat that has has a short and full skirt.It is reminiscent of a men's coat from the 18th century with points on the pockets and buttons running down the length of the front opening.
