Description
A fashion plate depicting three women in a beach scene. The plate is supplement to "The Queen/August 1, 1891" and advertises what reads below as the "Latest Paris Fashions". The woman on the viewer's left side is leaning against a bench and wearing a blue jacket, skirt and a white blouse. In the centre the woman is wearing a white striped dress. The bodice part wraps around the front and has a large draped collar with lace on the top and a green insert at the neckline opening. She has covered her face with a veil that falls from her hat. The third is wearing and pale blue dress with a white brocade. All women share the same "S"-shaped garments with slim waists and sleeves that are puffed at the shoulders and tapered to the wrist.
