Description
A fashion plate depicting two women in the city giving money to a beggar. The title reads: "The Fashions/Expressly designed & prepared for The Englishwoman's Domestic Magazine". The women on the viewer's left is wearing a long-waisted gown in brown with multi-coloured trim. The skirt is has draped fabric that is pulled upward, probably emphasising the bustle. The other woman is wearing a similar style but in black and grey with buttons running down the entire front. The beggar is a small woman or child wearing tattered looking clothing and carrying a basket.
