Description
A fashion plate that is a supplement to: "The Queen/September 1, 1888" advertising what reads along the bottom: "Latest Paris Fashions". It depicts three women in an outdoor scene. The woman on the viewer's left-hand side is wearing a brown bodice with a pointed waistline and matching skirt that has fabric brought to the back and draped over a bustle. She is wearing a large hat embellished with feathers and ribbon. The woman in the centre is wearing a white lace gown of a similar style to the previous gown but with a squared opening at the neckline that is edged with ruffle. The final woman is wearing a white gown with a gold-coloured blouse, belt and ribbons. The bustle is elaborately covered in draped fabric that is edged in lace.
