The woman in the middle of the front row is Annie Eliza Fryday. Born around 1889, the third of eight children to parents Nicholas Benjamin Fryday and Joanna, neeThompson. Annie married Charles Coates Whittington in 1915. Sons Horace James Coates Whittington (b 1915) and Cedric Nicholas Whittington (b 1918). Annie died during the Influenza epidemic, on December 8th 1918. I believe she was nursing at the time. Cedric died early in WWII, September 1939, while flying for the RAF. Charles Coates Whittington died in Lower Hutt, 1961. Horace died January 1980. Horace is survived by three daughters and one son.
