 Description
The Oakura Park Development Society was set up in 1985 to promote and develop local recreational reserves, landforms and waterways in the Oakura township and neighbouring areas. As a result of their actions and the discovery of the Taranaki Gold Striped Geko in the area, the reserve was developed as Matekai Park. The incorporated society was dissolved on 22 September 2000.
Records of the society, includes reports, newsletters and site plans.
