Description
A United Fire Brigades Association Long Service medal. The medal features the United Fire Brigades Association crest which includes a hose holding fireman flanked by the British coat of arms on the left and a crest which includes a fireman's helmet, crossed axes and a Phoenix rising from the ashes on the right. " UNITED FIRE BRIGADES ASSOCIATION " is embossed around the edge of the medal and the motto " AUXILLIUM IN / PERICULO " is embossed near the bottom. " LONG SERVICE MEDAL / PRESENTED / TO / Secretary / J.KITT / BY / Manaia V.F.B. / FOR / FIVE YEARS SERVICE / DATE COMPLETED / 25.11.46 " is inscribed on the reverse of the medal. The long red ribbon features 9 identical metal bars which feature a crest with "2 YEARS SERVICE" embossed on it. A simple pin and clasp is attached to a top bar at the top of the ribbon. "MANAIA VFB" is engraved on the portion of the medal above the suspension ring.
