A large metalworking ladle with a straight handle and a small spout on one side of the bowl. The surface is quite badly corroded but it appears to have been originally painted black. "MONUMENTAL BRAND" appears to be engraved on the top of the handle.

This ladle was used by Max Oliver Butcher in his coachbuilding business on Gill Street in the early-mid 1900s. Max came to New Zealand after some time spent in Canada. He was originally from England.
