 Description
A cut throat razor and case. " GIBSON'S / PATEA AND HAWERA" is etched on the blade and " KROPP " is etched on the handle of the blade. " GROUND IN HAMBURG " is etched on the other side. The razor is held in a case with a mismatched lid. " WINGFIELD, ROWBOTHAM & CO, 82 TENTER STREET, SHEFFIELD " is written on the base. The lid has a part of a paper label on it. " GERMAN GROUND RAZOR " is visible on the label. The other side of the lid has a set of mainly illegible instructions attributed to the Kropp Manufacturing Company.

This razor was thought to have been owned by a member of the Henry family who farmed on Lower Duthie Road in south Taranaki. It is thought to have been purchased before World War I.
