Description
A green wool peaked cap with a crown and band. The band is black and features a cap badge depicting a blue, white and red flag. Along the peak there is a solid line of gold metallic thread. The inside label reads: "Hawks & Co. Ltd./ I. Saville Ltd. W./Late 14, Piccadilly."

Mounted
Rifles,
the

African
War,
the
New
Zealand
Staff
Corps

an

General.
He
retired
in
the
1920s
and
when
he
died
in
1931
a
Taranaki
Herald
obituary
noted
that
"his
kindly,
courteous,
and
interesting
personality
will
be
greatly
missed
from
this
district
where
he
has
been
held
for
many
years
in
the
very
highest
esteem."
