Man, second from right, is my uncle, John D. Fenton, aka Jack Fenton, MBE. Confirmed by his son-in-law. Uncle Jack, born in Waitara, lived in New Plymouth pre- and post-WWII, before moving to Wellington. He was not a doctor.
