‘Plan illustrating the operations of Ngatapa’. Topographical map depicting the positions of Ngatapa Pa and Fort Richmond in regards to the pursuit of Te Kooti by Colonel Whitmore and the colonial forces in 1869. The plan shows Te Kooti’s position when attacked and the supposed escape route of survivors. Land form drawings are detailed with hachures.
Also includes facsimile copy of map originally published in the British Parliamentary Papers and republished by the Irish Academic University Press, 1977. States at head of title, ‘Enclosure 6 in Governor’s despatch no. 7, 21st Jany. 1869’; and in upper margin: ‘To face page 346. 0.59--Return--New Zealand’.
