Signs like these were fitted on the sides of the buses of Gibsons Motors Ltd in the mid-1970s as part of a new varient of their traditional company livery. In June 1976 the company was sold to TNL Group Ltd but the Gibsons name continued to be used for another three years. These signs were taken down from the wall of the New Plymouth bus station in the mid-1990s.
