Description
A princess-style gown made of narrow striped silk. There are sixteen metal buttons down the front and six buttons on the cuffs of the balloon sleeves. There is a narrow pink velvet ribbon edging the cuffs, the double standing collar and along the front of the armholes. The narrow ribbon runs in sets of three. A wide band runs in sets of three from the shoulder at the back into the waist. Each piece ends with a tail that flares out upon the bustle. The shoulders are dropped and the sleeves are very full with a narrower foundation of brown cotton. The bodice is mounted on grey twill with an inner waistband attached at the back. There is a deep pocket in the right-hand side seam, three wide bands of pink ribbon along the bottom of the skirt and the hem is finished with a row of wide kilting.
