Description
A waist-length jacket made of cream-coloured satin brocade with floral and ribbon motifs decorating it. The jacket is part of a matching bodice and skirt set. It has three bones along the back seams which have a green tack stitch at the top and bottom of each. Down the centre-front opening there are nineteen pearl buttons that are painted with a shimmer paint and handsewn buttonholes. One button is missing from the bottom of the jacket. The sleeves are constructed with two pieces of fabric and are fitted from the elbow to the wrist. There are curved darts at the centre front for shaping and pleats that are attached at the centre back of the waist. The collar is high and made of a floral embroidery on lace netting. A short lace ruffle edges the collar. Around the waist of the jacket there are four hooks for attaching to the skirt.
